Research Toolkit

Welcome to the UCI Health Research Toolkit. The Research Toolkit includes informatics tools to support clinical research:

myResearch

The secure myResearch portal provides secure, web-based access to R, SAS, JMP, SPSS, and a secure data hosting service. Honest Broker research requests for data are provisioned through the myResearch portal. To request data please follow the instructions in the Request Data section and attach your IRB Approval Letter, IRB Application, and the IRB Data Abstraction Sheet to the request.

Visit myResearch.

REDCap

REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) is a secure web application for building and managing online surveys and databases for research studies. REDCap provides audit trails for tracking data manipulation and user activity, as well as automated export procedures for seamless data downloads to Excel, PDF, and common statistical packages (SPSS, SAS, Stata, R). Also included are a built-in project calendar, a scheduling module, ad-hoc reporting tools, and advanced features, such as branching logic, file uploading (size limit applies), and calculated fields.

Cohort Discovery Tool (CDT)

The Cohort Discovery Tool (CDT), powered by i2b2, allows researchers to perform cohort identification and study feasibility analyses for their research with de-identified patient data from the UCI Health Enterprise Data Warehouse.

The CDT tutorials and tips can be found here.

Visit CDT, select CDT project.

ACT Network

The ACT Network is a real-time platform allowing researchers to explore and validate feasibility for clinical studies across the NCATS Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) consortium, from their desktops. ACT helps researchers design and complete clinical studies, and is secure, HIPAA-compliant and IRB-approved.

The ACT Network tutorials and tips can be foundĀ here.
