Imprivata OneSign Badging System

badge_in

Imprivata is a new badging system that is being deployed to key patient care areas. Below, you will find examples of how to use the new system, as well as some videos that show you how everything works.

Enrolling Your Proximity Card

Before authenticating to a workstation with your badge, you must enroll the card to the OneSign system. When you try to authenticate to OneSign with an unrecognized badge, OneSign opens the wizard:

Click" Enroll this card now" and follow the wizard.

If this process fails, you may not be provisioned to use OneSign. If this fails, please ask your manager to request access for you.

Authenticating with Your Proximity Card

  1. Tap your card on the card reader. The reader will show a green light and beep to let you know that it has been read successfully.
  2. If your badge is read successfully, you will now be logged in and see your name in a bubble in the bottom right of your screen.

View the Authenticating with Your Badge video.

Authenticating Without Your Proximity Card

To authenticate using only your username & password:

  1. At the OneSign Log On window, enter your username and password.
  2. Click OK.

Using the Workstations without Using Imprivata

To bypass OneSign and use the workstation like normal:

  1. While at the Unlock screen, click “Cancel” or press “Escape” on the keyboard.
  2. The workstation is now unlocked and can be used as normal, but will not auto-fill username and password fields.

  3. View the Accessing the System Without Your Badge video.

Completing your use of Imprivata

Yellow Button, Red Button, and Badging out will all lock the workstation and allow it to be ready for the next user.

When you are badged in, your credentials will now be used for things like the Intranet and Quest. If you walk away from a workstation without badging out or Yellow buttoning, someone else can launch Quest and it will auto-login with your credentials. So, when leaving a workstation, please present your badge or hit the yellow button to lock the workstation.

ALWAYS MAKE SURE TO BADGE OUT/YELLOW KEY WHEN LEAVING A WORKSTATION!

Example Workflow

Workflow

  • When badging in for the first time for the day, you will be asked for your password. This will happen every 12 hours. Type in your password, and click ok.
  • To access Quest/SCM, you have several options:
    1. Click the Green Icon in the Quick Launch area
    2. Physically press the Green key on the keyboard (Kiosks only)
  • When you are finished on your computer, you will want to “badge out” by presenting your badge to lock the workstation
  • If going to a different area to continue work, present your badge and you will be logged in.
  • To resume your Quest session, please do one of the following:
    1. Click the Green Icon in the Quick Launch area
    2. Physically press the Green key on the keyboard (Kiosks only
NOTE: DO NOT YELLOW KEY! THIS WILL LOCK THE WORKSTATION!
  • In a few seconds, your Quest session will resume where you left off.
  • When done working on this computer, badge out when leaving.
  • At the end of the day, or when moving units, simply Red key out of the machine. A small window will pop up asking if you would like to logoff. Click logoff, and the machine will lock.

Other considerations:

  • The Yellow key will no longer resume an existing session. You will want to use the Green key for that functionality.
  • When moving from to computer to computer, always Green key to pull your session over. If you click the Sunrise SMC Gateway icon before you Green key, you will open a second session.
